Gaurang started their career in 1999 as the Head of Legal & Company Secretary at Tilaknagar Industries Ltd, where they handled diverse contracts, litigation, and corporate governance. Gaurang then moved on to Reliance in 2005, where they served as the General Manager Legal & CS of Reliance Logistics Ltd., overseeing legal and secretarial functions for multiple companies. In 2009, Gaurang joined Batliboi Ltd as the Group Head Legal & Secretarial, managing legal support, contractual risks, statutory compliance, and corporate governance. During their time at Batliboi, they also served as the Group Head-Legal & Company Secretary. Since 2014, Gaurang has been working as the VP- Legal, Corporate Affairs & Company Secretary at Ajanta Pharma Ltd. In this role, they are responsible for drafting contracts, managing litigation, ensuring legal compliance, and overseeing corporate secretarial matters.
Gaurang Shah studied company law and general laws at The Institute of Company Secretaries of India from 1991 to 1993, earning a degree in ACS. Gaurang then pursued general laws at the University of Mumbai from 1997 to 1999, obtaining an LL.B. degree.
