Mark Roman

Mark Roman is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in developing and leading innovative technology solutions. Currently serving as the Lead Principal Software Engineer at Akamai Technologies since September 2011, Mark oversees the Custom Analytics infrastructure team and has previously contributed to the architecture and deployment of the Akamai Connected Cloud and various advanced projects in Akamai Labs. Prior to Akamai, Mark held senior engineering roles at Actifio, EMC, and Hitachi Data Systems, where contributions included the design of next-generation data protection products and large-scale distributed cloud storage solutions. Mark's career began at Kendall Square Research, and includes critical roles at multiple technology companies, showcasing a strong background in cloud computing, software architecture, and hardware interactions. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
