Remko Van de Peppel has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Remko started their career with an international internship at ING Group in 1999. From 2000 to 2002, they worked as a Site Controller at Business Unit Resins. Remko then joined Business Unit Industrial Chemicals and held various finance roles, including Assistant Business Unit Controller, Business Controller, and Finance Manager. In 2009, they became the Finance Manager Asia-Pacific at Business Unit Pulp & Performance Chemicals, overseeing a team of 30 FTE. Following this, Remko Van de Peppel joined AkzoNobel N.V., where they worked as Controller for Strategy and M&A and later as Global Corporate Finance Manager. Remko then became the Director of Risk Management, responsible for implementing a new FX risk management strategy and overseeing the carve-out of the Specialty Chemicals business. From 2018 to 2019, they served as the Director of Treasury, restructuring the organization and aligning it with the reduced scale of the company. Currently, Remko Van de Peppel is the Head of Finance, Procurement at AkzoNobel N.V., where they are responsible for building a centralized procurement organization and standardizing the Source-to-Pay process.
Remko Van de Peppel earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics, accounting, corporate finance & IT from the Amsterdamse Academie voor Bank & Financiën between 1992 and 1997. Remko then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Financial Management, specializing in corporate finance and management accounting, at the University of Amsterdam from 1997 to 2000. Following this, they obtained a Post Graduate Degree in Finance & Control (CMA/CPA) from Erasmus University Rotterdam, completing their studies between 2000 and 2005. In 2007, Remko attended IMD for a course in Corporate Finance.
