Tom Welle, PMP, has a diverse work experience in engineering and project management. Tom started their career as a Maintenance Technician at Alexandria Industries in 1994, where they troubleshooted and repaired extrusion presses and various manufacturing equipment.
From 1999 to 2015, Tom worked as an Automation Engineering Coordinator, where they designed and developed central data collection systems, developed control system strategies, and managed critical automation device software backups and modification policies.
In 2015, they became a Senior Automation Engineer at Alexandria Industries, where they developed innovative automation methods for production equipment and trained others on best practices for automation and programming.
From 2019 to 2023, Tom served as the Strategic Initiatives Manager, responsible for managing programs and projects with budgets up to $18M and teams up to 120 individuals. Tom prioritized projects according to business needs, managed multi-year capital programs, and ensured resource and budget availability.
In 2023, Tom was promoted to Director of Engineering at Alexandria Industries, where they currently oversee the engineering department and provides strategic leadership.
Tom Welle, PMP, attended Alexandria Technical and Community College from 1991 to 1993, where they studied Fluid Power Technology. Tom obtained a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in August 2017. In September 2022, they earned a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach certification from Gallup.
