Michael Schmitz

Michael Schmitz is a Director of Engineering at AI2. He works closely with the infrastructure org, whose mission is to enable research scientists to make breakthroughs in AI. More specifically, he works with the AllenNLP team (building an open-source library for developing state-of-the-art models), the Bunsen team (making it easier to run computational experiments), and the ReViz team (exposing the research through compelling web visualizations). Previously Michael has worked on Open Information Extraction at the University of Washington as well as a successful startup in the Seattle area. Michael has a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Washington.
