Jan Sommerfeld has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Jan started their career as a Consultant, working on strategic projects for companies like Bayer and OSCAR GmbH. Jan then co-founded PrepLounge, a consulting interview preparation tool that later evolved into a platform connecting talents with top consulting firms. Following that, they joined Rocket Internet AG as a Co-Founder and Managing Director, where they built and grew the Myanmar unit of Lamudi, focusing on real estate. At FoundersLane, they worked as a Venture Developer and Venture Founder, where they built digital business models and launched new start-ups through a proven "Co-Creation" model. Jan also held the position of Head of Operations at Lykon, responsible for overseeing operations. Currently, Jan serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Almedia.
Jan Sommerfeld has an extensive education history. In 2009, Sommerfeld obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne. Moving forward, Sommerfeld enrolled in the University of Cologne again in 2012 and completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance in 2014. During this time, Sommerfeld also pursued a Master's degree in International Management from CEMS - The Global Alliance in Management Education in 2013-2014. Additionally, Sommerfeld completed the CEMS Master's in International Management program at Università Bocconi in 2013-2014. Sommerfeld also briefly studied at Tongji University in 2013 and attended New York University for a short period in 2011.
