The Product Marketing Specialist is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and developing product marketing collateral that drives growth for new product launches and product lifecycle events. This includes creating compelling product positioning and storytelling aligned to segment needs, assisting in the development and execution of product launch go-to-market plans, optimizing sales enablement materials, driving producer adoption and engagement, and measuring and reporting on product marketing performance. This role partners with the broader Marketing team, Sales & Distribution teams, Product Development, and Compliance to align product marketing objectives and maximize the adoption of our products in the marketplace. The Product Marketer also collaborates to develop and execute campaigns and initiatives that accelerate product adoption, extend the product life, increase producer awareness and interest in our broad product offerings by developing best-in-class content and omni-channel campaigns.

  ** Position sits in West Des Moines and will work an onsite hybrid schedule** 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Product Story Telling, Positioning, and Maintenance - Collaborates with stakeholders in the development of engaging content aligned with our key segments. Ensures consistency and alignment of messaging across our product portfolio and market-facing content.
  • Stakeholder Alignment - Builds deep relationships across the marketing org along with key stakeholders including Sales, Compliance, and Marketing to ensure alignment and utilization of our product marketing initiatives.
  • Leads product marketing initiatives by creating and executing product marketing timelines to align with product launches, product life cycle updates, and key initiatives.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and thought leadership to teammates within marketing and be a resource across the organization.
  • Collaborates and provides insight into the product marketing process, incorporating market research, customer experience, trends, and propositions into the process.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Monitors key performance indicators related to adoption, growth, engagement, and sales, presenting regular performance insights to marketing management.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus, a minimum of two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in the annuity business or financial services.
  • Experience in Insurance or Financial services preferred.
  • Marketing Experience Preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:

  • One or more of the following: CHfC, RICP, CLU, or equivalent certification preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:   

  • Excellent communication skills, fosters a culture of collaboration across organizational partners to align and accomplish a set of shared goals.
  • Experience with new product and product enhancement initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with Annuity products and marketing best practices.
  • Ability to consume multiple sources of feedback and synthesize this into recommendations for product value propositions.
  • Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify the complex.
  • Comfortable providing strategic direction to creative teams and ensuring content is aligned to achieving goals.
  • A proven track record of developing and executing successful Product Marketing campaigns and delivering to a timeline.
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment and to adapt to new situations as they arise.
  • Ability to be highly detail oriented and focused.
  • Ability to work cross-functionality in a matrixed environment while managing and advancing multiple initiatives.
  • Possible travel 5-10%
