Michael Robertson

Michael Robertson is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory policy. Currently serving as a Senior Lawyer at ANZ since January 2021, Michael previously held the position of Special Counsel in the M&A team at King & Wood Mallesons from May 2014 to December 2020, focusing on drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts. Michael's earlier roles include Senior Solicitor at the Financial Markets Authority in New Zealand, providing strategic oversight on legislation projects, and senior positions at Russell McVeagh and Allen & Overy, where Michael advised on cross-border transactions and corporate governance matters. Michael holds an LLM (Hons) in International Law and Medical Law, an LLB in Commercial Law and Securities Regulation, and a BA in Psychology and Political Science, all from the University of Canterbury.
