Redlinger started their career as a Manager, Energy and Environmental Resource Planning at Synergic Resources Corporation in 1991. Robert then moved to CMS Energy - Viron Energy Services in 1999 as their Manager, Distributed Generation. In 2003, they became the Director of Renewable and Distributed Energy at Chevron Energy Solutions. Four years later, they were promoted to Vice President, Renewable Energy at AECOM. In 2011, they joined SunPower Corporation as their Commercial Director where they worked for six years before joining Apple in 2017.

Robert Redlinger has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, a Master's in Environmental Engineering & Science also from Stanford, and a Master of Science in Financial Economics from the University of London. Robert is also a certified Professional Engineer (Civil) in California.
