Yoav Barshad completed their undergraduate studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from 1977 to 1981. Yoav then pursued further education at the University of Michigan, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from 1981 to 1985.
