Prior to this role, Franco was the Managing Director at SAR SpA from June 1995 to January 1998 and worked as the Export Manager at Zanussi Grandi Impianti between 1985 and 1990. Franco's academic background includes a degree in Business Administration and Economics from Università Bocconi, completed from 1979 to 1982, and earlier education at Liceo Classico Omero from 1974 to 1978.

Aquafil SpA, formerly known as Space3 S.p.A., is an Italy-based company engaged in the financial industry. The Company operates as a special purpose acquisition vehicle (SPAC). The Company aims at acquisition of a business combination with an Italian medium-sized privately held company. The funds acquired are intended to be used for an acquisition of a target company, including aggregation by contribution or merger. In addition, upon completion of the transaction, the shares of the target company are to be quoted on the stock exchange. The Company has not a priori specific areas of interest in reference to target's operations, although it envisages focusing on the search for investment in a number of sectors, including luxury, clothing, furnishing, design, food, biomedical industry and advanced mechanical industry.
