Faris Khalil

Faris Khalil is an accomplished civil engineer with extensive experience in geotechnical and tunneling projects. Currently serving as Principal and Associate Principal at Arup since January 2019, Faris leads the Geotechnical and Tunneling division. Prior roles include Project Manager for the Doha Metro Trackwork and 3rd Rail at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, overseeing the design and installation of over 200 km of tracks. Faris has also held the position of Engineering Manager at AECOM, focusing on technical direction and project management within the Environment business line. Additional experience includes serving as Engineering Manager for the Doha Metro at Parsons Brinckerhoff and as Senior Geotechnical Engineer at ZAR Consulting Engineers. Faris Khalil holds an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Baghdad, complemented by a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the same institution.
