Sarin Abado is an experienced energy specialist with a demonstrated history of leading significant energy infrastructure and reform projects in developing Asia at the Asian Development Bank since September 2018. Sarin has established ADB's $15 billion climate finance facility, IF-CAP, and serves as the Head of the CAREC Energy Program. Prior roles include serving as Senior Policy Officer for E-Control, where Sarin chaired a gas policy work stream for the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators and provided technical assistance in Azerbaijan. At the European Commission, Sarin led a capacity building project focused on renewable energy in Algeria, and previously advised on EU legislation as an Energy Attaché at the Council of European Energy Regulators. Sarin's early career includes analyzing foreign investments for UniCredit and producing regional studies for the European External Action Service. Sarin holds a Certificate in Science of Climate Change from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS, and an MBA from WU Vienna.
