Amrik Mahal has extensive experience in IT leadership within the pharmaceutical sector, particularly at AstraZeneca, where current roles include Global Head of IT for Research and previous positions include Global Head of IT for Innovative Medicines and Early Clinical Development, and Global Informatics Lead. Responsibilities have encompassed driving digital transformation, leading global teams across multiple countries, and delivering innovative IT solutions to enhance drug development processes. Prior experience at AstraZeneca R&D involved managing clinical informatics portfolios, securing strategic collaborations, and overseeing teams dedicated to integrating scientific data for evidence-based decision-making. Amrik Mahal holds a BSc (Hons) and PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Kent and has completed a program in Clinical Informatics at The Ohio State University.
