Sourav Sarkar

Sourav Sarkar is currently a Senior Scientist at AstraZeneca, focusing on oncology safety combinations since July 2024. Previously, Sourav held the positions of Lead Scientist and Senior Scientist 1 at Sygnature Discovery from September 2018 to July 2024, and served as a Senior Research Scientist at AstraZeneca from March 2017 to August 2018. Sourav's academic journey includes a role as a Research Fellow at the University of Warwick from August 2010 to September 2016, where research involved the role of fusion genes in bladder cancer and chromosome segregation in yeast. Sourav also completed a PhD at Bose Institute (2003-2010) researching yeast genetics and molecular biology. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Calcutta and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.
