Tim Blaney

Tim Blaney is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in software development and engineering leadership. Currently serving as Vice President of Returns Engineering at Avalara since April 2014, Tim has been instrumental in establishing enterprise-level strategies and driving team innovation. Previously, Tim held multiple senior roles at FuelQuest, including Vice President of Development and Vice President of Technology, where responsibilities included overseeing motor fuels excise tax software products and leading comprehensive product architecture overhauls. Tim's experience also includes a tenure as Sr Manager of Application Development at Global Crossing, where project management and strategic IT planning were key focus areas, as well as earlier roles in programming at Humana and Wisconsin Gas Company. Tim holds a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
