Sara Parsons

Sara is Avangrid Renewables’ Vice President of Development. She leads the company’s development activities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams on site selection, permitting, interconnection and transmission, engineering, and offtake strategy to mature projects and gain investment approvals. She has over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy industry with both Avangrid Renewables and the SunPower Corporation.

Prior to her current role, Sara led the western development team and was also previously a member of the company’s renewable permitting and environmental affairs team. She has been directly involved in the development of over 3 gigawatts of wind and solar projects now operating in the United States. Prior to joining the company, Sara managed environmental permitting for natural gas pipelines and wind energy projects with Ecology and Environment, Inc.

Sara holds a B.A. in earth and environmental science from Wesleyan University and is a graduate of the Iberdrola School of Management Energizing Leadership Program.
