Scott Korney joined Avellino in 2012 and holds the distinction as the company’s first US employee. He has led several different areas of the company, including as Chief Operating Officer (2012 – 2020); Head of U.S. Operations (2021); and currently serves as Global Head of Facilities and Real Estate. His talents and dedication have helped Avellino grow from a small start-up to a global biotechnology company with hundreds of employees. Scott brings 40 years of experience in the science and biotechnology industry as an entrepreneur, as he founded two different businesses; has supported many early-stage business ventures; and also led successful global teams at three different Fortune 500 companies: ARCO, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agronomy and Crop Science from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona.
