Bill Schaefer has extensive work experience in the defense industry. Bill started their career at J. F. Taylor Inc. in 1999, where they served as a Senior Program Manager and Senior Systems Engineer. In this role, they managed multiple contracts and provided project management, technical support, and logistics support. Bill also managed personnel and provided cost estimating and analysis support to navy aviation program offices.
In 2011, Schaefer joined AVIAN as the Director of Professional Services and Senior Program Manager. Bill was responsible for managing contracts, projects, and programs within the company's portfolio. Bill played a significant role in the company's growth, with employee numbers increasing from approximately 80 to 225 during their seven-year tenure. In 2018, they were promoted to Vice President, where they defined and met corporate strategic objectives by creating and directing business sector plans. Bill developed strategic plans for growth, people, and execution and presented them to the board of directors. Throughout their career, Schaefer has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and operational efficiency skills.
Bill Schaefer attended North Carolina State University from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. Later, from 1995 to 2000, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Management at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
