Erik Nygaard

Mr. Nygaard joined Axonic in 2019 as a Director on the CMBS team, as well Associate General Counsel. Prior to Axonic, he worked as an Associate at Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP, where he represented clients in a wide range of real estate matters, including joint ventures, financings, investment sales and acquisitions, secondary market debt acquisitions/dispositions, developments, leasing, loan workouts, public/private projects and real estate related litigation matters. He previously worked as an Associate at Federman Steifman LLP, representing small to mid-size investment firms in complex and sophisticated real estate, structured financing and corporate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, lending, leasing and corporate governance. Mr. Nygaard was an Associate at Red Pine Capital Partners LLC, evaluating investment opportunities and managing existing investments for a boutique equity and real estate investment firm focused on middle-market, consumer-related businesses and real estate projects. He was additionally an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He received a JD at Fordham University and a BA of History at Columbia University.
