Rebeca Garcia Gil is an experienced immigration attorney currently serving as an Immigration Staff Attorney at Ayuda since February 2022. Prior experience includes working as an Immigration Attorney at the University of Maryland SAFE Center for Human Trafficking Survivors, where services focused on survivors of human trafficking, and as an Equal Justice Works Crime Victim Justice Corps Fellow. Rebeca has held editorial positions such as Editor in Chief at the Maryland Journal of International Law, overseeing journal operations and symposium planning. Legal experience also includes roles as a Student Attorney in the Immigration Clinic and a Law Clerk at The Law Office of Lara J. Wilkinson. Rebeca's foundational legal experience began as a Legal Assistant at Carl Lamb & Associates and as a Research Assistant at Pivotal Arts. Education includes a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Indiana University Bloomington. Additional academic experiences include study abroad in Ireland and completion of a high school IB Diploma.

Through its offices in Takoma, DC and Falls Church, VA, Ayuda has amassed a 40-year history of providing critical services on a wide range of issues, and in the process, has acquired nationally recognized expertise in immigration law, domestic violence and human trafficking, among other fields. We have 50+ full-time, bi-lingual attorneys and social workers/case managers providing legal, social, and language access services and we have assisted immigrants in more than 100,000 cases and counting.
