Alec Moore is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Bangor University since June 2019, specializing in the elasmobranchs of the Arabian region with a focus on sustainable management and conservation. An independent researcher since March 2001, Alec's work addresses the knowledge gap regarding Gulf elasmobranchs. As the Regional Vice Chair for the IUCN Shark Specialist Group since January 2012, Alec coordinates regional efforts related to Red List Assessments and provides guidance on critical issues. Previously, at RSK Group plc from February 2006 to June 2019, Alec served as both a Principal and Senior Marine Environmental Consultant, focusing on marine ecology and environmental impact assessments. Educational qualifications include a PhD from Bangor University, an MSc from the University of Warwick, and a BSc (Hons) from the University of Southampton.
