Shenal Kakad

Shenal Kakad is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in private markets and investment management. Since July 2018, Shenal serves as the Head of Private Markets and Managing Director at Barclays, overseeing the Barclays Direct Investments platform and global Private Equity teams, with responsibilities that include sourcing, structuring, due diligence, and distribution of private equity funds and placements. Prior to joining Barclays, Shenal held the role of Director for Direct and Co Investments at UBS from July 2005 to June 2018, focusing on opportunities for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices. Additionally, Shenal has worked as a corporate finance adviser specializing in cross-border M&A and private placements, as well as an Analyst for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, conducting fund due diligence. Shenal earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) between 2002 and 2005.
