Katherine Tomaska

Katherine Tomaska is an experienced Water Resources Engineer at Barr Engineering Co. since July 2022, with a background in environmental research and engineering. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant at St Anthony Falls Laboratory, Katherine developed procedures for culturing Microcystis aeruginosa to support harmful algal bloom studies. Katherine's previous internship experiences include roles at Barr Engineering Co. and Young Environmental Consulting Group, where significant contributions involved stormwater modeling, sediment analysis, and in-field assessments of erosion potential. Katherine holds a degree in Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering with a focus on Environmental and Ecological Engineering from the University of Minnesota, complemented by international educational exposure at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
