Sabrina Escobar

Sabrina Escobar is a reporter at Barron's who previously worked as a social media consultant, intern, ghostwriter, and editor.

Sabrina got their start in journalism as an intern at Newsday Media Group in 2018. There, they researched and wrote articles on U.S.-Latin American relations with a focus on Central American politics, economics, and foreign relations. In 2019, they interned at DDB, a summer internship program for college students interested in advertising and marketing.

After graduating from college, Sabrina became the Editor In Chief of UR Forum Magazine, a student-run magazine at the University of Rochester. Sabrina was responsible for managing a team of writers and editors, as well as writing and editing articles herself. During their time as Editor In Chief, they increased the magazine's social media following and helped it gain recognition on campus.

In 2020, Sabrina left UR Forum Magazine to work as a social media consultant at Centro Arborétum. There, they restructured the company's social media presence by conducting an in-depth social media audit and providing recommendations for improving social media relations. Sabrina also generated content for social media platforms using Adobe Photoshop. As a result of their work, the company's Instagram and Facebook follower numbers increased, as did its engagement rate and click-through conversion rate.

Sabrina left Centro Arborétum in October 2020 to take a reporter position at Barron's, where they cover U.S.-Latin American relations with a focus on Central American politics, economics, and foreign relations.

Sabrina Escobar has a Master of Science from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, as well as a Master of Science in Latin American Studies from the University of Oxford. Sabrina also holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond, where they double majored in Journalism and Leadership Studies and minored in Rhetoric and Communications. Prior to that, they attended the Academia Britanica Cuscatleca for high school.
