Simone Petersen

Simone Petersen currently serves as the Global EHS Director at Bavarian Nordic, a position held since May 2024. Prior to this role, Simone was the Head of Corporate QA and Food Safety at Novonesis, where responsibilities included governance of the Corporate Quality Management System and management of regulatory inspections and audits. From August 2019 to December 2022, Simone led Quality Continuous Improvement at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, overseeing pharmaceutical quality systems and operational resilience. Previous experience includes heading Regional Investigations for Europe at Biogen and leading EHS&S efforts at Lloyd's Register across Northern Europe and globally. Early career roles at Pfizer involved operational safety engineering and chemical safety specialization within large pharmaceutical production facilities. Simone holds a Bachelor's degree from University College Cork.
