David Wight

Director of Development at Bay Area Community Resources (BACR)

David serves as BACR’s Development Director, joining the agency in 2003 and assuming his current position in 2005. With more than 30 years of experience in program planning and development, he has been responsible for foundation and government grant proposals resulting in more than $70 million in funding.

David’s main specialty is writing. In addition to developing grant proposals, he has produced and edited a variety of professional and feature publications including newsletters, annual reports, annual appeal letters, policy manuals, and strategic planning documents. Recent books are The BACR Story, Crossing Nevada, and Return to Ithaca. In earlier years, he wrote a feature column for the Golden State Warriors Playbook magazine.
