Joe Niland

Joe Niland, PLA, currently serves as a Landscape Architect at BGE, Inc. since November 2021, following a previous role in the same capacity at Design Resource Group, PA from June 2018 to October 2021. Niland gained valuable experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Virginia Tech from August 2016 to May 2018 under Professor John Browder, Ph.D. Early career internships were completed at Design Resource Group, PA and Richard Mandell Golf Architecture, where responsibilities included design representation and construction oversight for golf projects. Niland began professional development with roles at the Community Design Assistance Center and Natural Enhancement, focusing on landscape design and installation. Educationally, Niland holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning and a Master of Natural Resources from Virginia Tech, as well as a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the same institution, supplemented by a semester abroad at Tongji University.
