Willem Strauss

Willem Strauss has extensive experience in cybersecurity, data protection, compliance, and IT audit, currently serving as the Head of Functions Cybersecurity, Application and Data Security at BHP since January 2001. In this role, Willem provides strategic direction for application and data security activities and leads the development of enterprise-wide data protection programs. Other notable positions at BHP include Manager of Data Protection and Senior Manager roles in Governance & Compliance, Risk, and IT Audit Services, where Willem ensured compliance with SOX regulations and coordinated IT audit activities across multiple regions. Prior experience includes work as an Articled Clerk at Leask & Partners, focusing on auditing and financial consulting.
