Sam Benezra

Sam Benezra is a Senior Scientist at Biogen since February 2021, with a previous role as a Scientist. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellow position at Columbia University's Mind Brain Behavior Institute from December 2017 to February 2021, where Sam designed systems for delivering psychophysical stimuli to rodents, utilizing MATLAB and Python for data analysis. Prior to that, Sam was a Postdoctoral Fellow at New York University School of Medicine from August 2009 to November 2017, conducting statistical analyses and authoring publications based on anatomical data. As a Graduate Research Assistant at NYU, Sam's doctoral research focused on circuit motifs in the brain through fluorescence microscopy and connectomic analyses. Sam earned a PhD in Neuroscience from New York University (2009-2016) and a Bachelor's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder (2005-2009).
