Andrew Whitby

Andrew Whitby is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience across various organizations, currently serving as Lead Data Scientist (Senior Engineer) at Bloomberg since April 2021, focusing on enhancing product quality and exploring new offerings. Previously, Andrew held the position of Interim Chief Data Officer at World Data Lab, managing a team while implementing best practices. A notable tenure at the World Bank Group involved leading the development of the Atlas of the Sustainable Development Goals 2020 and engaging in innovative data integration projects. Earlier roles include research fellowships at Nesta and teaching positions at the University of Oxford. Andrew holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Oxford, complemented by a Master of Philosophy in Economics and dual bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Queensland.
