Philip McDermott

Philip McDermott is an experienced software engineer and manager with a robust background in mobile application development and eCommerce solutions. Currently serving as Engineering Manager at Bloomberg LP since October 2013, Philip has also held roles as Team Lead and Mobile Software Developer. Prior to Bloomberg, Philip was a Senior Mobile Developer and Mobile Team Lead at Red Ant, where expertise in iOS and Android applications was developed. Academic experience includes working as a Research Associate and Research Assistant at the University of Manchester, focusing on tools for medical research and bioinformatics. Philip's foundational skills were established through freelance mobile application development and a Senior Software Engineer role at Teleca Ltd, contributing to Symbian mobile device software. Philip holds a PhD in Computer Science, an MSc in Cognitive Science, and a BSc in Artificial Intelligence, all from the University of Manchester.
