Juan A. Ruiz

Juan A. Ruiz currently serves as an Orbits Curiosity Educator at Lowell Observatory, where responsibilities include enhancing STEAM education through innovative astronomy programs and conducting hands-on activities for schools on Navajo and Hopi reservations. Previously, Juan held roles as a Research Assistant on goniometer development under Dr. Will Grundy, a Public Program Educator at Lowell Observatory, and as a Visiting Scholar at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science, focusing on community engagement in origins of life research. Additional experience includes a Research Associate position in the Young Scientist Program, work as a Research Assistant II at Northern Arizona University's Planetary Instrumentation eXperimentation and Exploration Lab, and a Teaching Assistant role in microbiology. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Northern Arizona University and participation in the NASA L'SPACE Academy for proposal writing and evaluation.
