Rakesh Murugesan

Rakesh Murugesan is a medical student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, pursuing a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from August 2023 to May 2027. Prior to medical school, Rakesh earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science with a minor in Medical Pharmacology from The Ohio State University, graduating in 2023. Rakesh has diverse experience in tutoring and research, currently serving as an MCAT Tutor at Blueprint Test Prep since May 2023. Previously, Rakesh co-founded and served as Executive Director of Philocracy, a 501(c)(3) organization aimed at supporting local charities in Columbus through innovative apparel. Rakesh also held significant roles at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, focusing on cancer research, and held leadership positions in BuckeyeThon, where Rakesh directed multiple committees and emphasized community outreach.
