UX Researcher at Branding Brand

Weiyu Ran started working as a Teaching Faculty at the University of Pittsburgh in September 2016 and continued until April 2019. During this time, they also held the position of Data Analyst from May 2016 to June 2020. In August 2020, Weiyu Ran joined a startup project called MiniCelly as a UX Researcher/Designer. In this role, they conducted user interviews, identified user needs, and reported findings that led to the development of the MiniCelly app. Weiyu Ran is currently working as a UX Researcher at Branding Brand since April 2021.

Weiyu Ran completed a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts - MA in History from Shandong University between 2011 and 2014. Weiyu Ran also holds a Master of Science - MS degree in Aquaculture from Huazhong Agricultural University, which they obtained from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Weiyu Ran has acquired additional certifications, including a User Experience Research and Design Specialization from Coursera in April 2021 and an IBM Data Science Specialization, also from Coursera, in May 2020.
