Breakthrough Miami

Breakthrough Miami is an 8-year tuition-free program for highly motivated Miami-Dade students from under-resourced schools and/or communities. The program offers academic enrichment, experiential learning, and academic counseling support. Breakthrough Miami also works with highly talented high school juniors/seniors and college students, offering a robust 8-week teaching internship in the summer. Our Vision: All motivated, under-resourced students of Miami-Dade County will have access to excellent educational opportunities, graduate from high school and attend college. Our Mission: Breakthrough Miami provides an academic enrichment program that uses a student-teaching-students model to ensure that motivated, under-resourced middle-school students have access to excellent high-school opportunities, graduate from high school on time, and attend college. Our Impact: 100% of seniors graduated on time from high school 98% of graduates enrolled in colleges and universities 90% of those enrolling selected four-year institutions, far outpacing the national average for high-performing students from disadvantaged backgrounds
