Jane Cavanaugh

Jane Cavanaugh has extensive experience in the healthcare sector and animal interpretation. Currently serving as a volunteer animal interpreter at Brevard Zoo since September 2019, Jane specializes in educating the public about Florida's wild animals. Previously, Jane held several nursing positions, including Pre-surgical Evaluation RN at Apollo Surgical Center from May 2011 to May 2015 and RN III at Health First from July 2005 to August 2010, where responsibilities included serving as a senior staff nurse in the Perianesthesia care unit. From May 1976 to June 2005, Jane was the Nurse Manager at Westchester Medical Center, overseeing multiple units and managing a staff of 150. Jane holds a BS in Psychology and History from Mercy University and a nursing diploma from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. Additionally, Jane has maintained certification in Perianesthesia Nursing since 1992.
