Heather Rooke

Director, Strategic Alliances, Genomics Platform at Broad Institute

Heather Rooke is currently the Director of Strategic Alliances for the Genomics Platform and the Director of Covid Program Alliances at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, a role held since August 2020. Prior to this, Rooke served as Executive Director for the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University from September 2017 to January 2020, overseeing a department of over 200 researchers and managing various administrative functions. From October 2005 to September 2017, Rooke worked as Scientific Director for the International Society for Stem Cell Research, where strategic initiatives and programs for over 4000 members were developed. Rooke began their career at Children's Hospital Boston as a Science Editor and Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Rooke holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine, an M.Sc. in Cellular and Molecular Biology, and a B.Sc., all from the University of Auckland.
