Christos Karamanolis

Christos Karamanolis is a technology leader with extensive experience in data infrastructure and storage systems. Currently serving as a Fellow at Broadcom's VMware Cloud Foundation division since November 2023, Christos is responsible for the technical strategy of the product portfolio while continuing to focus on storage and data protection for modern application development. Prior to this, Christos held the role of Fellow at VMware from October 2005 to November 2023, where significant contributions included the development of vSAN, evolving it into a multi-billion dollar business. Earlier career experiences include a Senior Researcher role at Hewlett-Packard Labs, a research associate position at Imperial College London, and IT service in the Hellenic Army. Christos holds a PhD in Distributed Computing from Imperial College London and a Dip. Eng. in Computer Engineering from the University of Patras.
