Isin Taylan is currently serving as a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the Rijksmuseum since September 2023. Prior experience includes a position as a Lecturer at Yale University from January 2023 to June 2023, and a Teaching Fellow at Yale University from January 2017 to June 2022. Taylan began an academic career as a Teaching Assistant at Sabanci University from September 2013 to June 2015. Isin Taylan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in History from Yale University, completed in 2022, and has two Master of Arts (MA) degrees in History, with one from Sabanci University and another from Central European University. An exchange program was undertaken at Sciences Po, and an undergraduate degree in Social and Political Sciences was obtained from Sabanci University. Early education was completed at Robert College from 2003 to 2008.

The Rijksmuseum manages a number of internationally renowned collections in the field of Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages onwards, as well as important collections of European and Asian artworks. The museum’s objectives are to conserve these collections, to study them and add to them, and to make them accessible to as wide an audience as possible, both nationally and internationally.
