Heather Grabbe

Heather Grabbe is a Senior Fellow and Non-Resident Fellow at Bruegel and Kaya Partners, respectively, focusing on significant policy issues. At UCL, Grabbe serves as a Visiting Professor, while previously advising the leadership of Open Society Foundations on climate neutrality and societal fairness. As Executive Director of the Open Society European Policy Institute, Grabbe advanced democracy and human rights across Europe. Prior roles include Senior Advisor at the European Commission, where major developments in EU-Turkey relations occurred, and Deputy Director at the Centre for European Reform, overseeing numerous publications and events on EU policies. Grabbe has also contributed to academia as a Visiting Lecturer at LSE and a Research Fellow at Chatham House. Educational qualifications include a PhD from the University of Birmingham and advanced studies at prestigious institutions such as the European University Institute and the University of Oxford.
