Bruegel - Improving economic policy
Simone Tagliapietra is a prominent academic and researcher specializing in international political economy. Currently serving as a Senior Fellow at Bruegel since April 2015, Tagliapietra also holds positions as an Adjunct Professor at The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies since 2018 and as a Senior Associate at the Payne Institute for Public Policy. Previously, Tagliapietra was an Assistant Professor and Lecturer at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore from January 2016 to March 2024 and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow and Research Fellow at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei from January 2011 to December 2020. Additional experience includes a role as a Visiting Researcher at Sabancı Üniversitesi and an internship at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. Tagliapietra holds a PhD in International Political Economy and multiple degrees in economics and political sciences from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Geneva Graduate Institute.
