Grant Shackelford

Grant Shackelford is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in patent law, currently serving as Counsel at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC since January 2020. Prior to this role, Grant held the position of Associate Attorney at Sughrue Mion PLLC from August 2012 to January 2020, with a practice that included inter partes proceedings in federal courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, along with drafting and prosecuting patent applications. Grant's background includes an Intellectual Property Fellowship at Chicago Kent College of Law, a Patent Prosecution Clerkship at the United States Department of Energy, and various legal and research positions that contribute to a strong foundation in both legal and scientific principles. Grant earned a J.D. in Patent Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law, along with advanced degrees in Chemical Biology and a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry.
