Julie Rios is an experienced educator and education leader currently serving as the Director of Education at Building Momentum since December 2022 and as an Educational Consultant for EL Education, Inc. and ScribeConcepts LLC since May and April 2022, respectively. Rios has a strong background in instructional practices, having worked as a Virtual Learning Program Teacher for Arlington Public Schools and an Elementary School Teacher for both Arlington and Fairfax County Public Schools. Rios began the career as an Intervention Teacher at Martin Luther King Elementary and has held various teaching roles since 2007, contributing expertise in assessment content creation and instructional technologies. Rios holds a Project Management Certification from Syracuse University and a Master's degree in Education from Trinity Washington University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Media and Communications from Muhlenberg College.

Building Momentum conducts corporate, educator, military, and professional training using technology and related skills to teach problem solving, project management, and team building. Through event and competition-centric projects teams rapidly develop tech solutions to challenging problems while learning new skills and gaining confidence that will assist them in their careers. Building Momentum also runs and operates The Garden, a premier event space in Alexandria.
