Kevin Baynes

Kevin Baynes has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and development. Kevin is currently serving as the Head of Technical Delivery at BUILT since January 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Purchase Activated Apparel Technologies as the Chief Technology Officer from October 2019 to January 2021 and as a Principal Software Engineer from October 2018 to October 2019.

Before joining Purchase Activated Apparel Technologies, Kevin Baynes worked at Rocket Software for a remarkable period of 11 years. During their tenure from May 2007 to October 2018, they held the position of Senior Software Engineer. Kevin played a crucial role in leading agile scrum teams, engineering client- and server-side applications in languages such as Java, C#, and Node. Kevin showcased their expertise in technologies like Angular, HTML, and CSS. Kevin also excelled in handling customer-facing technical deliverables and integrations and acted as a guide and mentor to build collaborative and creative teams.

Prior to Rocket Software, Kevin worked at Seagull Software as a Senior Software Engineer from May 2001 to May 2007. Here, they developed server- and client-side applications in Java, led teams, and emphasized Java-based web development and Swing-based GUI development.

Kevin Baynes began their professional career at Renex as a Software Developer from March 1996 to May 2001. During this time, they developed software in Java and C++, maintained a website using ASP, and designed artwork using Illustrator and Photoshop.

Before Renex, they started their career at Solunet as a Software Developer from August 1994 to March 1996. Here, they developed and maintained a website in IDC/HTX and ASP, performed graphic design roles in print and web, and worked with technologies like VBScript, JavaScript, SQL, and SQL Server.

Overall, Kevin Baynes has gained extensive experience in software engineering, technical leadership, and project management throughout their career.

Kevin Baynes attended James Madison University from 1988 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Spanish. Kevin later went on to earn certifications in AWS Partner Accreditation (Technical) and AWS Partner: Cloud Economics from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2023.
