Dr Surendra Rauniyar

Dr. Surendra Rauniyar is a Senior Climate Scientist at the Bureau of Meteorology, specializing in estimating baseline seasonal rainfall and analyzing the impacts of anthropogenic factors and natural variability on Victorian rainfall. With extensive experience as a Radar Scientist, Dr. Rauniyar has improved hydrometeor classification algorithms and studied the dynamics of storm systems. Previous roles include academic positions at The University of Melbourne and RMIT University, where Dr. Rauniyar contributed to the education of engineering students. Dr. Rauniyar holds a PhD in Meteorology from the University of Melbourne, a Master's in Civil Engineering from The University of Tokyo, and a Master's in Water Resources Engineering from Tribhuvan University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the same institution.
