Christine Mitchell

Christine Mitchell is an experienced professional in the field of Deaf Studies, currently serving as the Lead Interpreter at California State University, Northridge since May 2016. In this role, Christine interprets between American Sign Language (ASL) and English, provides professional development, mentors others, and coordinates interpreting services. Christine's extensive experience includes self-employment as an interpreting mentor, ASL teacher, and instructor, as well as a position as a Video Relay Interpreter with Sorenson VRS. Prior roles include Director of Interpreting at Sorenson Communications and American Sign Language teacher at Westerville City Schools. Academic qualifications encompass a Master's degree in Education from Marygrove College and multiple Bachelor's degrees in Education and Teaching of Individuals with Hearing Impairments from MacMurray College, complemented by studies at Gallaudet University.
