Shaun de Vera, Ed.D., is an experienced educator and leader in the field of education with a strong focus on equity and social justice. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at California State University-Sacramento, Shaun teaches courses that prepare pre-service teachers to analyze practices within culturally diverse communities. In addition to this role, Shaun is the Project Manager at The People’s Think Tank for Education Justice, where efforts concentrate on addressing racial inequities in public education. Shaun's previous positions include Director of Education at Square Root Academy, Lecturer and Field Supervisor at Fortune School of Education, and Assistant Principal at Options for Youth.
