James Bevan

James Bevan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership and governance roles across various sectors. Currently serving as a Non Executive Director at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and a Trustee at Clinton Devon Estates, Bevan is also a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Canal & River Trust. Additionally, Bevan holds the position of Visiting Professor at Cranfield University. Previous roles include Chief Executive at the Environment Agency and UK High Commissioner to India at the British High Commission in New Delhi. With a robust background in foreign affairs, having held various senior positions at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, including Director for Africa and Head of the Africa Department, Bevan's international experience is further complemented by academic involvement as a Visiting Fellow at Harvard University. Bevan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex.
