Sara Burke

VP, Development at Cape Breton University

Sara Salter Burke brought over 20 years' experience to the Cape Breton University Development team in the fields of business, hospitality and the non-profit sector. Sara attended Mount Saint Vincent University, gaining her Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality and Certificate in Business. Sara continued her studies at the New England Culinary Institute and recently completed her MBA in Community Economic Development at CBU. Her role within the CBU development department, Sara is responsible for the management of CBU’s annual awards, endowed scholarships and bursaries and donor and gift agreements. Sara also coordinates CBU's planned giving program and is a lead role in all fundraising initiatives at CBU. Working with community groups, government boards, fundraising, and being an entrepreneur Sara brings vast experience to her position. She is responsible for bringing the highly successful Ribfest Rotary event to Sydney. Outside of her work with CBU, Sara is the co-chair of Leave a Legacy Nova Scotia.
